blah

spent all night with an old 'friend' of mine remembering old times. back in the day when we were careless. ya know? the good 'ol times???

too bad I can't repeat most of them.....man

so UT is at the Ohio State for the 2nd game of the year, 1st for the Buckeyes. do you have any idea what its like to go into a visitors stadium of over 90,000 screaming drunk fans and walk out of there with your head held high, being proud that you wore the Burnt Orange and White today??? well folks, for those of you inexperienced.....its simply awsome. I've seen UT beat Nebraska when they were still good. once in St. Louis at the TransWorld dome for the 1st Big 12 championship. James Brown 4th and 1 roll out to hit the tightend on the drag behind the defence. UT 37-27. and then again on Halloween in Lincoln, Nebraska when Major Applewhite snapped their nation's leading 48 game home winning streak. once again Texas by 10. and then who can forget the Rose Bowl of 05.....

but the game at the Ohio State University in the horseshoe is going to be one for the record books. once again, I will be there come hell or high water, which is quite possible the way the weather is acting these days.

3 more weeks of this BS class. yippie!

almost forgot to say that we saw an authentic Russian MIG figherjet fly over Cedar Creek Lake for the big 4th of July party. he came in about 1200-1300mph from what I could tell at about 2-300 feet about the lake. buzzed the tree tops, came roaring past us, turned the plane completely vertical and then proceeded to hit the afterburner and disipear into the sky. about 4 or 5 times in a row he did this. one time he actually created a wave in the lake! and it completely ruined the fireworks show. kapout! aparently it is one of only 8 left 'alive' and they use another 11 for parts and such. thats it. worldwide thats all there are. whom ever owns the plane, who I never met b/c its one of Jim's neighbors, paid a pretty penny for it. about $45,000,000 is what I was told, b/c oil tycoons can do that. right or wrong, thats a boat load of cash for a 'toy' he keeps it in the Tyler Avaition hanger in Tyler Texas if you must stop by to call my bullshit but sorry, no BS here. he had to get special clearence to fly that low over a populated area and its registered as a 'show' plane. thats the only way the US would even allow such a plane to fly. oh, and one more thing, it WAS not armed! HA! Truly one of the more eyeopening experiences I've ever, ever had.

FYI-FunFordWeekend in Ennis, TX Sept. 16-18 (Rice weekend for all you Longhorns out there)
be there or be square...
